Information and Knowledge Sharing

Proven practice, shared across the continent.

AMSSA exists to make sure proven practices are shared and replicated across Africa. The plan says it does this by facilitating knowledge exchange, producing common guidance and evidence, and communicating openly with Member States, regional bodies and partners.

What we share

  • Guidance and model regulations. These are developed for Member State use.

  • Evidence and reporting. This includes annual findings and assessment reports.

  • Shared platforms. These cover Port State Control data, maritime crime intelligence and blue economy knowledge.

  • Open communication. A website and stakeholder portal support transparent communication with Member States, regional bodies and partners.

Feedback and review

The plan sets up several ways to listen and report back:

  • An annual Stakeholder Forum to gather feedback from Member States, regional bodies and partners.

  • Quarterly progress reports to the Administrative Board.

  • An annual Work Programme Review in December 2026.
